As a young person, I chose medicine because I wanted a career that would suit my science geeky self and allow me to interact with my community in a helpful way. I learned so much in medical school but also discovered that feet, especially adult feet, really gross me out. I figured taking care of baby and kid feet gave me a chance of survival in medicine…and of course, I love kids and always feel like a kid at heart.

My husband and I were born and raised in West Virginia (don’t worry I am a HOKIE). Our immediate family still lives in the West Virginia area. Blacksburg is our home away from home but close enough for us to visit West Virginia often. We love that our two children can spend time with our family as much as possible.

Hmmmm…what are hobbies? I get to the lake in the summer as much as possible. I waterski and enjoy all watersports. I would also say I like to exercise, a combination of running, weightlifting and cross training depending on my mood and season.

Surprise… I love to run to 90’s rap music.
